King KPC HDPE

King KPC high-density polyethylene is produced with our proprietary K-Stran^® process for unsurpassed flatness and quality up to 1-1/2” in thickness.  For larger gauges our state-of-the-art compression molding system is utilized to create the same quality sheets, slabs or massive shapes.  King KPC HDPE natural is FDA approved and meets NSF standard 2 and standard 51, which can be used food containers and food equipment. It is extremely versatile with outstanding properties and good chemical resistance for a wide variety of applications, at very competitive cost. KPC HDPE has a low coefficient of friction and can be easily cut, colored, machined, welded, and thermoforming for easy fabrication. It may be used for some structural fabrication because of its superior tensile strength, much more than Low Density Polyethylene.  It is moisture resistant, impact resistant and has great abrasion resistance. The material will not splinter, rot or retain harmful bacteria, odors, and is very resistant to cleaning agents.

The ASTM E84

This test method is intended to compare the surface flame spread and smoke developed measurements to those obtained from the tests of mineral fiber cement board and select grade red oak flooring. The results are expressed as Flame Spread Index and Smoke Developed Index.

Results
Class A Interior Finish:
Flame Spread Index 0-25, Smoke Developed Index 0-450. Includes any material classified at 25 or less on the flame spread test scale and 450 or less on the smoke developed test scale. Any element thereof when so tested shall not continue to propagate fire.

Class B Interior Finish:
Flame Spread Index 26-75, Smoke Developed Index 0-450. Includes any material classified at 25 but not more than 76 on the flame spread test scale and 450 or less on the smoke developed test scale.
